I have a couple of questions for you regarding the mill and the components. The mill looks like it might be a bit corroded on the surface. >>We cannot see any corrosion. However there is wear on the wear parts.I need you to explain exactly what materials were milled in it prior and an explanation for the corrosion. >>The unit came out of a pilot plant at a pharmaceutical facility. We just see normal wear.I have been inquiring about “lab size” jet mills in the resent past with various venders and have noticed that the mills come with a feeding system for the feed stock. Does this jet mill come with or require some kind of automated and calibrated feeding system? I understand that adjusting the rate of the feed stock can greatly affect the finished particle size. >>Yes The mill will need a feed unit of some kind. The type and rate will depend upon the product processed.Also I have seen “lab size” jet mills operate in the past and even the smaller ones require a lot of air pressure. Obviously we would need to acquire a separate air compressor for this 15” jet mill. Should I contact Sturtevant to acquire quotes for an air compressor that can handle this jet mill’s requirements or do you know of another vender that might make a better deal on a competent air compressor? >>Your local air compressor dealer would be a great place to start. Used air compressors are available on the used market. Companies like Arnold Equipment would love to source one for you.4/4/04 - cust #20860 question - Please I need to know the capacity and the grinding degree how many micron 4/11 - to vendor4/12/04 - per vendor - According to MFG literature the 15 in. Micronizer is capable of 50 - 300 #/Hr. depending on product.
