All product contact parts to be type 316L stainless steel mirror polished. All elastomers (including mechanical seal O rings) to be FDA approved Viton. Exterior of vessel and cover to be polished to a fine satin surface finish. Monoblock lift housing and drive supporting structure to be fabricated of and/or sheathed with type 304 stainless steel polished to a fine satin surface finish. Unit designed for full vacuum operation (-1 BarG). Agitation system for mixing and homogenizing medium to high viscosity formulations consists of two top entering coaxial agitators and one bottom entering homogenizing turbine including: Outer anchor agitator with self-adjusting teflon scrapers (10-50 rpm) and internal counter-rotating blades (20-100 rpm) driven by a 1.5 kw 230 or 460 volt 60 hz TEFC motor. Bottom entering toothed rotor/stator type homogenizer (355-3550 rpm) driven by 3 kw 230 or 460 volt 60 hz TEFC motor. AC variable frequency inverter drives located in the monoblock enclosure. All motors instruments and sensors on the unit to be wired to the control panel mounted inside of the monoblock enclosure. Coaxial and homogenizing turbine shaft sealing arrangements utilize mechanical seals with viton o-rings. Type 316L stainless steel vacuum cover with (1) 4 in. pyrex sight glass with teflon wiper blade (1) 2.5 in. tri-clamp connection with sight glass and light source (1) 3/4 in. tri-clamp connection for vacuum line (2) 3/4 in. tri-clamp connections for ingredient addition (2) 1 in. tri-clamp connections with spray devices for vessel cleaning and vacuum/pressure transmitter. Offered with a type 316L tilting vessel with type 304 stainless steel baffled jacket on sides and bottom for heating and cooling. Includes pressure safety relief valve mounted inside of monoblock cabinet. Jacket is insulated with non-chloride insulating material and fully enclosed with type 304 stainless steel sheathing welded to vessel. (1) 1.5 in. manually actuated flush mounted plug valve in the vessel bottom for product discharge. Heating of the jacket and product through an electrical heating system mounted in the monoblock enclosure. Heating system includes reservoir centrifugal water circulation pump (40 L/min 0.33 kw) and electrical heating element (6 kw). Safety thermostat. Vessel and product cooling obtained through city water circulation through vessel jacket. Temperature control is programmed through the PLC and touch-screen graphical user interface. Pt-100 ohm RTD probe located in heating/cooling loop for jacket temperature measurement. Fixed vessel type with monoblock configuration and electrohydraulic lifting arrangement to raise the vacuum cover and agitators from the vessel. Safety limit switches and interlocks to prevent operation of drives when vacuum cover is in lifted position. Safety limit switch and interlocks to prevent lifting of vacuum cover if the vessel is under vacuum or pressure. Vessel tilting arrangement driven through a manually actuated gear reducer and a hand-wheel. Vessel can tilt to approx. 95 deg. position. Heating/cooling connections enter the jacket through special rotary pressure joints. Safety limit switches and interlocks to prevent operation of drives when mixing vessel is tilted. All utility and process connections are manifolded inside of the monoblock structure for connection on the rear of the unit. Controls and instrumentation located integrally in monoblock cabinet to include: Safety interlock logic AC variable frequency inverter drives for independent variable speed control of the agitators. The following controls mounted on the front of the cabinet: main power disconnect control power light emergency stop button. Touch screen operator interface and PLC for control of all functions of the system including: cover lifting operation agitator operation temperature control vacuum/pressure control. Input voltage: 460 volts 3 phase 60 hz. Vacuum system with liquid ring vacuum pump driven by a 1.1 kw motor installed in the monoblock enclosure including a solenoid valve for turning on/off the service liquid with the operation of the pump. Homogenizer (Mixer/Emulsifier) can be built either in the top or the bottom in this size.
