Glycol is a a mixture of propylene glycol and water which is chilled to about 28 degrees and circulated through a heat exchanger or tank jacket to cool the product. Ethylene glycol is used in automotive radiators but the substance is toxic so it can't be used in food applications. There is no jacket rating on the prints and I didn't see one on the tanks when I bought them. This is typical of dairy vessels built in that time period.
